Registration

Northwest Arkansas BEST is dedicated both to supporting our local schools and to supporting the creation of new BEST Hubs throughout Arkansas and the region. To support these goals, we welcome visiting schools to our NWA BEST Hub while giving first priority to our local schools. We anticipate that we will be able to handle only twenty-four teams this year in our contest.

Priority Registration goes through May 15th of this year, with a $300 equipment deposit required to be delivered with each school's letter of intent to participate. This money will be deposited in the NWA BEST escrow account, and will be returned to the school upon successful check in of their returnable items at the end of the competition.

The letter of intent from the school should include names and full contact information for all teacher-coaches, the administrator responsible for the team, and all known outside mentor-coaches. It is imperative that each person in that letter identify a reliable email address that they can check daily during the school year and outside the normal school year.

On May 16th the schools will be selected by the following priority:

  • First: Local high schools
  • Second: Local junior high schools
  • Third: First time visiting high schools
  • Fourth: First time visiting junior high schools
  • Fifth: Returning visiting high schools
  • Sixth: Returning visiting junior high schools
  • After May 16th schools will be given slots on a first come first served basis, with the exception that new visiting high schools from communities planning to start a Hub in 2007 will be given extra consideration.

The term "local" is somewhat loosely defined using the distance of the school from the highway 71 corridor between West Fork and the Missouri line. We will work to accommodate all interested schools, but the earlier a school registers the more likely it is that they will be able to participate.

Please send all letters of intent with deposit check to:
